No, I didn’t actually spend four weeks writing this blog post.
But I did start this blog four weeks ago, and have been preparing the blog for four weeks to get to the point where I can finally write my first post.
If you are thinking of starting a blog, don’t worry, it won’t take four weeks. You can be up and running in an hour.
Grace Blogger Back Story
The reason it took me so long is because of the nature of this blog. I have numerous blogs and I often get emails from people asking how I did something on a particular blog, or where they can get their own blog, or if I can help them set a blog up.
Often, they said they searched Google, and while some of the websites they found were helpful, most only gave brief descriptions of what to do, and few included any images.
So in my replies to their questions, I tried to provide specific step-by-step instructions, and lots of screenshot images, showing exactly what to do and how to do it.
After getting multiples requests like this, I soon realized that there were probably lots of people out there who want to write a blog, but don’t know where to start or what to do, and most of the “help” sites out there don’t provide clear instructions or step-by-step guides with images.
So I decided to create one.
This blog is that Guide
Rather than send out numerous emails with similar information and pictures about setting up a blog, I am putting the guides on this blog.
And if you are looking at the blog now and are unimpressed, don’t worry, the blog will change. One of the reasons it looks the way it does is because I will only change something on the blog by making a post about it. So far, all I have done is set it up, and add a few plugins to get me going. As I did this, I wrote detailed blog posts about the process, which I will be publishing within the next few days and weeks.
All told, I ended up writing around 30 blog posts to get me to the place I am at today where I can write my “first” blog post. Over the past four weeks, I took hundreds of screenshots and wrote thousands of words. Once I publish all of these, we will begin to spice up the look and feel of the rest of this blog, providing detailed guides and images on how to set up your blog.
So follow along!
